yay! I changed my blogskin. Although it may not be really nice, it's a change from last time, which was there for more than one year. I'm going to make my blog colourful! With colourful posts and pics!
ok, yay! next week is sabbatical week! I'm going fencing! So exciting. Oh ya, I want to put some pics of the presents that I received on concert day. I purposely out them nicely to take pics of them the next day. here they are:

Hello!
I know it's quite late to blog about concert now. But nvm, I shall attempt to blog. Yay! concert was a success! The audience enjoyed themselves tremendously i heard.
Actually that day was a super busy day. We had so many things to do and so little time. Like we were rushing to give each other letters and gifts and everything. Ya, then Yuzhen haven't write finish and she attempted to tell us everything that she wanted to write in the letter. Anyway, thanks for all the letters, chocolates, flowers, jia yous and words of encouragement. Can't believe that it's our last concert already...
Passing down is next Fri. I'm sort of looking forward cuz I want to play other people's instrument! Yay! so exciting. But then after that we sort of leave the band already and that's the sad part. Interviews are on this thurs and fri. Oh ya, and one more exciting thing to look forward to is trumpets section bbq! Yay!
Ok, actually I'm having LA lesson now and I'm supposed to be doing some research but I'm slacking. I realise that I always blog at the times that I'm not supposed to be blogging. I have Chem test later, going to die for sure. I just started studying yesterday and I never really understand what Mr Ng is saying during chem lesson. But after today, I'll be super happy!!! Cuz most tests are over. At least all the major ones before sabbaticalas:)
Oh and I'm taking fencing for sabbaticals:) And career planning:(. Nvm, at least i have one nice one. and Shi Min is there with me too:) ok, i better start on my researh on my ideal school. (this is quite exciting actually)

It's now the end of week 3. Concert is next fri!!! Left 3 more pracs. I feel kind of unprepared. It seems that we make a really big deal out of syf but not so much out of concert. How come??? I thought two years ago the seniors said that concert is more important cuz it proves that we are a gold band. The gold at syf is just a name, a prove that we can play that two songs well. Our concert shows that we REALLY live up to that name.
I'm starting to think if we're handling the band correctly. Last time, before concert, we had auditions, one to one prac and everything. Now it's like not such a big deal anymore. Seriously, I never scolded my section, never even talk very seriously to them or get angry at them before. And we went throught syf and this coming concert. Actually, I know that my section is not bad, in terms of playing and everything. But I think that there's room for improvement. I feel that I'm not putting much time on my section. I really don't know how to help them cuz I'm so lan4 myself. I ask them to come back then I dunno how to take them or what to take them. During sectionals, we mostly just play through the songs and prac the actions. I think I'm not a very good sl. I feel that the standard of the band is dropping.
Haiz... I'm very tired already. But i know that i have no right to complain... cuz i'm not doing a lot for the band. Cynthia and Shi Min are the ones who really put in a lot of time and effort. I know that they're tired too. Look at Cynthia and you'll know. We're all tired out, trying to do our best to make this concert a success and coping with studies at the same time. But it's coming to an end.
I want to help Shi Min scold the sec 1s. SEC 1s!!! listen here. You better be more serious about band. U know the rules. Don't purposely break them. No handphones during band! Everytime u all go out to prac by yourselves, there's no sound, dunno u prac what. And some people always take out their handphones. Will you die without looking at your handphone for 3 hrs??? And the worst thing is u take out ur handphones not because there's a call or msg. U take it out to play games. For Your Information, band prac is for you to prac ur instruments, not your game skills. And you're not supposed to touch other people's instrus. It may be very tempting, but you're not supposed to do it. There's punishment for that. I tell you, Shi Min cannot stand some of you anymore and Shi Min is one of the nicest person I ever knew. If she cannot stand u, you better go and reflect. Ok, I know that all of you feel very bored when you're sent out to prac by yourselves. Maybe we are sort of negelcting you. But please understand, we ned to prac too. We cannot be there to wait on you hand and foot. Please be more initaitive and have more self-control. You're already very lucky that you get to play for concert. The sec 2s didn't get to play last year and this concert is their first one. We can jolly well take the junior band item out if u think that it's boring to prac those two songs. ok, end of scolding...
My feelings are very mixed. I want the concert to be over and we can pass down and everything, then we can really take a rest. But actually, to a certain extent, I enjoy these stuff that I'm doing. Tiring as they can be, I find pleasure in doing them cuz it shows that i am capable to doing something, makes me feel more useful and makes me more bonded with the band and stuff.
On ya, Ms Chong wants us to pass down after the national day thing and probably after founder's day cuz i heard that we're supposed to perform something. And the ironic thing is, she told us to decide on the passdown date. Most likely going to be we suggest and she decide. Letting us make the decision is not supposed to come with so many conditions!
ok, sorry if the post is very messy and stuff. I'm just being a bit emo here cuz i'm quite tired now. Everything will be fine when i wake up tmr :)

Oh ya! I forgot to say. Trumpet section have alumni coming back! I'm super happy! They are.... (drum roll...) Alicia, Xiang Yun, Wenjing, Michelle Chen and Charmaine. Yay! Thank you to these ppl and I love you all for making taking to time and effort to come back and play. I'm really touched and you all made my day(seriously).
For the other alumni that are not playing, I hope you'll come back next year and the years after. But I have some bad news for you, you won't be able to watch the concert cuz the tickets are sold out! We have a full house! We are zai2. The tickets were sold out in TWO days.

Yay! I decided to update my blog although I'm supposed to be doing my hw. See, this is what I always do . That's why my homework is forever done at the last minute and my results are so lan4. Anyway, we're all going to die(except sylvia haha). concert is on wk 4 fri and we have math and bio test on wk 5 mon. Wow!
Ok, nvm abt tests. Concert is like next Fri!!!! Oh my gosh, it seems so soon lah. We only have 5 more pracs to concert! Haiz... know what this means? 5 more pracs to the end of my nycb life, 5 more pracs for me to have fun during band, 5 more pracs before I can no longer write in the section book officially as a member of CATS and not an alumni of CATS, 5 more pracs to the day that all these times we spend together come to an end. Argh... there's still lots more that I can never finish naming.
Time flies. I can't believe that I spent 4 years in nycb already and these 4 years are coming to an end in 5 pracs time. I'll really miss nycb cuz I'm starting to miss it already. I miss my juniors, the pracs that we can be part of the music, my section, my instru, my job, and everything related to band.
I'll never regret joining band. Actually I must thank my mum cuz it was her who asked me to join band in sec 1. I really can't imagine what my life will be like if I wasn't on band. I would most probably be in badminton. Can you actually believe that I wanted to join badminton!? I think I would be dead by now, with my super lan4 stamina.
Ok, that paragraph was crap. Dearest juniors(if anyone even reads this), please treasure your time in nycb. Time really flies and before long, you'll be sec 4s who are going to pass down. Let me tell you now. Nycb will be an integral part of you life that you'll never forget. So treasure the time that you still have in this band. Sec 3s, you only have one more year, Sec 2s, you have two more years and sec 1s, you're the luckiest batch with three more years! Sec 1s, I know that you may not think much of the band now, with many of you thinking that it's boring and meaningless. But when you really become part of the band, you will know what it is like to really BE a nycbian and you WILL enjoy band. So please try your best to be part of the band so that you can get the best out of it.
I don't want to pass down anymore, I don't want to go HC and I don't want to leave nycb.
ok, I'm just making myself depress thinking abt such things. We have 11 more days and 5 more pracs to concert. Everybody must jia you k! Make this concert the best one we ever had. We'll work hard together to bring out the best side of nycb. We'll show everybody that we can do it! May the passion of nycb live on forever:)

Haha, I'm supposed to be doing my math portfolio now. Everybody else finish already...except me! cuz I was too lazy to do it during the school holidays...haiz... But it's really tempting to slack at my grandmother's house...especially after one whole day of band prac... see! slack so much...now the entire batch painting banner at Shimin's house and I cannot go:(
Today is youth day holiday! Happy youth day everybody! Although I bet it's not much of a holiday. It's a day to catch up with sleep and homework after the buzy first week of school. Yay! This Fri got funfair and Sat got open house. Haha, and I got free buffet dinner on 7/7/07, 7pm, which is this sat. So cool right?
Hope this fri got no band. Then can go home and do homework, or else I'll die on mon. Sat and Sun sure very busy... Anyway, wk 7 is the best week of the term. only study for 2 days. Wed got cross country and national day celebration, Thu is national day, Fri is national day celebration, Sat is the anniversary dinner, Sun got Hmp concert and Mon is founder's day holiday! Yipee! Almost one week of holiday haha! But that's in week 7. and it's current week 2 only:(
Oh, i think that the present that i made for mr lee on behalf of my section is very pretty! ok, shall not slack anymore or i don't have to sleep tonight already......can't wait to see the banner tmr.
